Come Fly with Me
Mary Oelschlaeger
painted her feathered friends
Several years ago, I attended my first Town Birding event sponsored by Five Valleys Audubon Society. This was just the beginning and before I knew it, I was a “ birder.” To date, I revel in seeing birds, hearing birds, learning about birds, and birding with others. As a watercolorist for over 40 years, it was a natural progression for this passion to evolve into painting birds. I just love looking at them and am delighted to have the opportunity to share their charm and beauty with you.
The paintings here today are based on my own photos, with the exception of the Wood Pee Wee and the Pygmy Nuthatch which were based on images generously shared by equally enthusiastic birding friend Cindy Swidler.
All the feathered friends in this show live in local surroundings. My hope is that you will enjoy them here....and in the sky,...the water...the forest...the land.
